Roadtrip, 2018

These double exposures were created in-camera on film in the summer of 2018 during a mother-daughter roadtrip through the eastern part of so-called-Canada. Evelyn used these images to document her and her mother’s exploration of the territory and through it, their shared heritage. The viewer is invited the into the privileged space of this relationship to see the maternal figure through the daughter’s eyes. It is not clear where the mother’s body ends and where the landscape begins, just as we are inextricably tied to those that came before us.
